Hey Dave! I believe you sent a PM to Kris and he gave me the info, so I've been looking into it, and have an email in the works to you actually. I have some info from Vortech finally and the hold up has been the tuning. I thought they had sent the kit already, so my apologies for the confusion there. The kit is ready to ship, but the tuning isn't ready yet, so they have been waiting to send it to you all at once. In order to get the 3 yr / 36k mile warranty, you have to run the Vortech tune, so we have a couple of options. I can have Vortech send you the kit now, without a tune, so you at least have the kit at your place. (Or we can have them send it here if you're coming down for the install.) Once the Vortech tuning is available, they can send the Predator with the tune, and you would be eligible to purchase the 3/36 warranty for $400. Another option would be to not do the 3/36 warranty, and we could have Diablo create a tune for your car, and even get it dyno tuned if you come down here, since they are only about 20 miles from us. We use them for all our tuning, and since they are the ones who created the tuning in the first place, they're quite good. The standard Vortech warranty would apply still in that instance. Let me know what you think, and we'll make it all work for you.
![]() Thanks, Lisa.

Thanks for getting me up to speed. I feel much better about the situation. You know how your head starts to run with thoughts of what if this and that. With that being said I have a few more questions.
You said that the tuning is not ready for my car and that I had to use the tune from Vortech in order to get the warranty. Do you have an ETA for the tune? I know you?re at the mercy of Vortech as well. Another option was to get a custom tune from Diablo and have it dyno tuned while I there? This is where I got confused. You said that ?The standard Vortech warranty would apply still in that instance.? Is this correct? |

Vortech said they are hoping to have the tuning out within a month, but I asked if that was highly likely to happen or if in a month's time, we would be told it'll be another month, etc. and the feeling was that a month is not a sure thing. They are shooting for it, but it sounded like it could become a couple months just as likely.
The Vortech superchargers come with a 1 year warranty standard, so if there were to be an issue with the actual supercharger unit, you would be covered, regardless of the tune used. It protects you against any defects or issues with the product within the first year. Sorry for the confusion on that. If you decided to not wait for the Vortech tune and skip the 3/36 warranty, we would have Diablo create a tune file that they would email to us. We would load that into your car, which would be a good enough tune to be able to drive your car to Diablo for actual dyno tuning. That is the best possible tuning as the car's exact diagnostics can be monitored and the tune created specific for your vehicle. The Vortech 3/36 warranty is only available if you run their tune, though, and the 3/36 warranty would not apply if we did the custom dyno tune.

This car is my daily driver so Im not looking to push the performance envelope, but I do like to play on the weekends. I want it all or as close as possible, power and everyday reliability. I would love to have my car dyno tuned. Couple of questions...
Would I get a programmer with it? I have heard stories of people taking thier cars in for service and forget about the tune and it gets changed. Since I will be in Tennessee, it won't be easy to have BMC work on my car if I have trouble. How would this work? New to FI world and computer tuning. (Old school NA builder) Please PM the cost of Auto Meter white face gauges, S/C & Gauge install, dyno tune. Instllation dates? I would like to do it the week of November 9. That way I could attend BMC M&G on the 13 before I head home. |

The dyno tune would definitely give you the most power while still being safe for your motor. The Vortech tunes are also really safe, but typically leave some power on the table as well. We have Kris' Charger with 20k miles on the Vortech tune and customers with as many on the custom tunes so both are well-proven and reliable. Kris will be getting a custom tune at Diablo, but we wanted to fully test and prove the Vortech tune first so that is the only reason we haven't custom tuned his yet.
You will get a Diablo Predator and it will have your stock tune file saved on it as well as the custom tune Diablo will create. That will be yours to keep, and if anything ever needs a little adjustment we can email you an updated tune that you can load into the Predator and then load into the car. I'll send you the gauge information via PM and we can work out the installation details. That week would work out fine for us!
